On August 29, 2023, we conceived the idea of developing ScriptChat, driven by the recognition of the essential requirement for individuals to engage in clear-cut conversations and authentically share their memories through posts on their timeline. Our goal is to furnish users with a platform where their chats and feed space emulate real-life experiences.
A chat application with real-time speech-to-text customized transcription is designed and to assist users with hearing impairments by converting spoken words into written text in real-time.This feature allows individuals with hearing impairments to actively participate in conversations by reading the transcribed messages instead of relying solely on audio.By enabling real-time transcription, the application enhances communication accessibility and inclusivity, empowering users to engage in conversations without the need for traditional verbal communication.
"I had collaborated with Harini Subiksha and team, a skilled UX designer and software developer, to craft a targeted questionnaire for our diverse user groups, including individuals of all ages. Our objective was to solicit specific examples rather than generalities throughout the survey."
ScriptChat, as the name suggests, was designed to be more than a mere communication channel. It was envisioned as a platform where speech effortlessly translated into text, breaking the barriers of typing, and allowing users to express their thoughts seamlessly.
